Dj Rokk started his life at COCK the infamous London Homo Nightspot that hit its dizzy heights in the early days of the Electroclash Boom ,alongside Nag Nag Nag and at the forefront of a new revolution in dance music and clubbing as we knew it. Touring with COCK internationally he developed his own take on the current electro wave, mixing all ages of electro and pushing the boundaries of the constantly challenged london music scene. In the 4 years he continued to play for Cock he guested at some of the hottest spots in town while working in the day time as A@R for Parlophone Records. Commisioning remixes for Gorillaz, Jamelia and Kylie.Rokk still commisions for Parlophone and has just finished a 2 remixes for Kylie, Boombox (especially commisioned by Kylie for Boombox, the club) and most recently WOW. Rokk was also resident at Boombox in 2007 which released BOOMBOX a compilation with Kitsune in October 07 along with Boombox the Book, a celebration of the night itself. 'it has an energy of its own that i cant find in any of the club nights around' says Rokk. 'Its a mammoth mouth of creativity and debauchery that you'll only find in london's east end. I love playing at Boombox 'Its fuckin electric!!' Rokk played weekly along side residents Jerry Bouthier and Matthew Stone. Recent guest have included Justice, Busy P, Dj Mehdi, Bang Gang, Trevor Jackson and The Glimmers....now he has his own night 'Jack Ya Body'and continues djin for anyone that'll have him. Rokk resides at new original house night BUMMPS and also Jack Ya Body. Marcos Tavares começou a passear os seus discos pelas cabines de pequenos bares da cidade do Porto em 1992, consolidando-se como um dos mais desconcertantes divulgadores da herança Soul-Funk, incorporando nos seus sets – sempre de natureza eminentemente “freestyler” – as novas linguagens que os ritmos de dança incorporam dentro desse universo: soul, funk e breaks, quando os locais onde actua se caracterizam por ambientes mais descomprometidos ou os ritmos mais 4 por 4, como o breakbeat e a música house de vocação claramente mais dançável quando a gestão de uma pista de dança se torna a preocupação dominante.

O universo musical em que situa – extenso, alegre e diversificado - e a enorme experiência que granjeou ao longo de mais de 15 anos atrás dos pratos, fazem de Marcos Tavares um dos Djs mais experientes no activo em Portugal e, principalmente, daqueles que marcam a sua identidade musical de forma mais acentuada e singular.
